P. Janardhan Reddy (also known as PJR) (January 12, 1948 – December 28, 2007), was a politician and labour leader who had served as MLA five times for the Hyderabad constituency ofKhairtabad. He was MLA for the constituency in 1978, 1985, 1989, 1994, and 2004 until his death.

He attained a Polytechnic Diploma.
[edit]Entry into politics
Starting his career as a trade union leader in 1967, Reddy was first elected to the assembly in 1978. He was Labour Minister in the ministry headed by his mentor T Anjaiah in 1980. He had been a known loyalist of Gandhi family (Indira, Sanjay, Rajiv, and Sonia).
He was suspended from the party on several occasions for running a 'dissident campaign' against the state Congress leadership or chief ministers.[citation needed]

Reddy suffered a heart attack on December 28, 2007, while on his way to a party meeting. He was rushed to hospital but died on the way. On the day he died all the shops were closed.
After his death, his son P Vishnuvardhan Reddy was elected to the MLA
Kairthabad is one of the biggest constituency in India. Now it is divided into four constituencies; Reddy family members are going to contest two of them.
